Harpocrates

    Prototype H-1, nicknamed Harpocrates or "Harpy" by Dr. Livingstone and Destiny, is the most successful prototype of Project ONI headed by Genesis Research, as he retains human-level reasoning while able to express tissue adaptation--he can form appendages at will and at a very fast rate.  Korrisgauf, a country recently reconstructing after a catastrophic nuclear war, has been developing many new weapons, including adaptable soldiers like Harpocrates, in fear of their vulnerable state being taken advantage of by opportunistic countries.  Harpocrates appears to be that glimmer of hope for Korrisgauf, as he has been proven to be very effective.  Various testing has consisted of inflicting lacerations, gunshots, and other such injuries to his body. He has managed to recover from every injury, including those that normally would be lethal to normal people.  He has even recovered from four gunshot wounds to the brain.  His recovery from that particular test spanned several weeks--oddly enough, his brainstem managed to keep its own tempo during his brain-dead state.  

  Harpocrates does not speak, since his Broca's area was pruned during development to encourage conformity.  Despite this, he has learned to draw and write.  Dr. Livingstone, head of Harpocrates's development, kindly provided him with a piece of chalk to draw with; Harpocrates uses this to draw on the walls of his observation chamber.  Harpocrates appears to display symptoms similar to schizophrenia--possibly caused by feeding him stimulants like amphetamines during testing--and frequently draws his hallucinations.  Destiny, who is in charge of chores such as delivering food to prototype cells, often helps talk Harpocrates through some of his paranoia, though most of it is unfortunately well-grounded.  Destiny also uses her telepathy to soothe Harpocrates. She tends to be one of the few threads holding his sanity and humanity together.
